Trail RestorationInspired to give back![]() "Clean Trails" is a volunteer group that we started in February of 2007. We decided to begin our group as a way to tie in giving back to our community with something that everyone in the group enjoys, running and hiking in the beautiful Sonoran desert surrounding the Phoenix area. We also want to help improve the trail systems, make them safer and to do everything we can to help preserve our natural surroundings. We have adopted the Thunderbird Park Nature Trail system in Glendale, Arizona but will continue to work with the Cities of Glendale and Phoenix on additional projects throughout the year. The projects include picking up trash and debris along area trails, trail restoration and removing the overgrowth of weeds and grasses that pose serious fire hazards during the summers in Arizona. Our 2007 goal is to work our "adopted" trail three times during the fall and winter months as well as participating in three additional events for a total of 6 projects and at least 50 total hours of service. We will give you updates on our progress toward these goals as well as the growth of our group throughout the year. If you live in the Phoenix area and are interested in joining our group or would like more information go to our "Contact" page and leave us a message. Adopt-a-Trail, Nov. 19, 2007 ![]() |
