Desert Hiking

Respect and Enjoy Nature

The goal of this division of The Green Path Company is to expose valley visitors to the beauty of the Sonoran desert while challenging them with hikes on trails ranging from moderate to difficult (see rating system). We want these hikes to be enjoyable, educational and challenging and we do our best to provide you with everything you need to make this happen. We offer the following services as part of our trips:

* A brief history of the trails and park areas
* Basic knowledge on the local plant and animal life
* Transportation to and from the trails
* Trail maps and rating system for both terrain and footing
* A CD with pictures from the trip

I am trained in basic First Aid and will carry a cell phone on all hikes and follow these simple rules:

1. Your safety is our primary concern
2. We want you to enjoy the time we spend together
3. We want to challenge you physically during the hike.

We finally began our Desert Hiking service this month, April 8th, with a group of 13 brave hikers. None of them had ever been hiking in the desert so it was a great experiance for all of us. The desert and weather cooperated with us as the temperatures were in the mid 80's and the cactus were blooming along with many of the desert plants and wildflowers, overall a GREAT day.
